We are proud to receive funding from multiple sources:
SACNAS: The national Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans (SACNAS) organization helped our chapter get started with New Chapter Funds in 2007 and has also awarded us funds as part of our Chapter of the Year Award in 2009 and Role Model Chapter Award in 2010.
The UC Berkeley Graduate Assembly (GA): The GA general fund has supported chapter activities on campus since 2008. In Fall 2010, the Graduate Minority Outreach, Recruitment and Retention (GMORR) project sponsored our NSF Workshop Part II as well as organizational meetings during the semester.
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory: Berkeley Lab has graciously donated funding for our events, including a chapter-run Berkeley reception at the 2011 SACNAS conference.
The UC Berkeley Department of Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB): The MCB department is committed to promoting diversity in the sciences. They have have funded our NSF Workshops and have also provided support to students to attend the annual national SACNAS conferences.
Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute: The Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute helped fund our NSF Workshops in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Berkeley Edge (NSF-AGEP): Berkeley Edge is a program designed to retain and support diversity students in graduate programs at UC Berkeley. They have consistently provided us with funds to attend the annual national SACNAS conferences.
Invitrogen: Invitrogen sponsored our California Academy of Science field trip in November 2009, and helped fund our NSF Workshop Part II in 2009.
